Grooming Product/Clipping

I understand that my pet might be presented for grooming in a "matted," "oily," or otherwise unusual condition. Universal Pets Grooming will take the precautions and may clip my pet to remove the matted coat or use products that is appropriate during the bathing process.

While I understand that the groomer will take precautions and uphold their duty of care during the grooming process, I acknowledge that my pet's condition may lead to potential cuts or adverse reactions to the aforementioned products. In the unlikely that either of these issues arises, my pet may need veterinary attention after the grooming ensure their well-being.

I have reviewed the statements above and hereby grant UNIVERSAL PETS my consent and authorization to seek veterinary advice and/or care at their discretion in my absence. I understand that I will not hold the groomer or the business responsible for any incidents or liable for any veterinary costs that may arise.

Behavioural Issues

I acknowledge that my pet can sometimes exhibit aggressive, fearful, or excitable behavior. I understand that these behaviours may pose occupational health and safety risks for the groomer and could potentially affect my pet's welfare.

 

Recognizing this risk, I hereby consent to and authorize UNIVERSAL PETS to restrain and/or my pet during grooming if deemed necessary. While I understand that the groomer will take precautions and their duty of care during the grooming process, I am aware that my pet could sustain cuts if it flinches or lunges unexpectedly. In the rare event that this occurs, my pet may require veterinary care post-grooming to ensure its well-being.

 

I read the above statements and give UNIVERSAL PETS my consent and authorization to seek veterinary advice and/or treatment at their discretion in my absence, and I will not hold the groom or the business responsible for any incidents or liable for any veterinary costs.

Sedation

I acknowledge that my pet has been brought in for grooming and has exhibited unacceptable behaviour towards the groomer and equipment. I understand that it is my choice whether to sedate my pet to allow the grooming to continue.

 

I recognize that a veterinarian may need to complete the grooming since UNIVERSAL PETS does not support sedation, will proceed based on my decision to sedate. I also understand that if my pet becomes too aggressive or stressed while sedated, UNIVERSAL PETS may stop the grooming for the pet's safety, and a veterinarian may need to finish the job.

 

I am aware that UNIVERSAL PETS will not groom a pet under total sedation due to potential complications. Additionally, I understand that sedation carries inherent risks regarding pet's health and safety. I have read the above statements and hereby consent to allow UNIVERSAL PETS to proceed with the grooming once I have sedated my pet, as well as for any future grooming that may require sedation. I will not hold the groomer or the business liable for any incidents arising from sedation or for any veterinary costs that may result. I that I understand the contents of this release form and agree to take responsibility for any events that may occur as a result of sedation.

Photography Release

From time to time we may take photo's of your pet for advertising. If you do not wish your pets photo used for advertising, please inform Universal Pets.

Pet Skin & Hair Aesthetician Services

At Universal Pets, we now include Pet Skin & Hair Aesthetician care as part of our grooming support services. This service focuses on helping maintain your pet’s skin and coat, and assists in identifying concerns early.

If any signs of irritation, dryness, hotspots, hair thinning, or other skin issues are noticed during grooming, our aesthetician may carry out a brief assessment. When needed, you may be offered a complimentary skin consultation to discuss what has been observed and outline possible care options.

Please note:

  • Aesthetician services do not replace veterinary care. Any serious issues will be referred to your veterinarian.

  • Therapy restoration pricing will be calculated once a personalised therapy plan has been put together, as each pet’s needs can vary.

  • All care provided aims to support your pet’s comfort, coat condition, and overall wellbeing.
