Test Your Pets Dehydration

Updated: Dec 29, 2024

Summer months, it important to ensure your pet has plenty of water to stay hydrated.

How to test your pet's dehydration.

There are two methods to test. One is on the top of the head, and the other is at the scruff of the neck. Testing on the head is a good initial option. Pinch the skin, pull it up, and then let go. If the skin is elastic and your pet is well-hydrated, it will snap back instantly. If the skin retracts slowly, your pet's hydration is moderate. If the skin remains upright, seek veterinary assistance immediately.
